Internet Explorer 11 Retirement

As you may have heard, Microsoft is "retiring" Internet Explorer 11 on June 15, 2022. In this case, "retiring" means that Microsoft will no longer provide support or updates for IE 11 beyond this date. This does not mean that IE 11 will suddenly stop working or disappear from your Windows PC on 6/15, although that could eventually happen if your PC is running the latest updated version of Windows 10 (20H2 or newer). In response to all of this, Microsoft has implemented "IE Mode" in their new browser Microsoft Edge to assist with this transition. Additionally, they have promised to support IE Mode in Edge at least through 2029.

BXTN's PoweBid service has included a plan viewing software called FastBid for quite some time that relies on Internet Explorer to function. FastBid is no longer being actively developed and needs to be replaced, which is why we are currently working on an upgrade to our PowerBid service that will include a new plan viewer. If you want to continue to use FastBid, you can do so using IE Mode in Microsoft Edge in both Windows 10 and Windows 11. In order to help BXTN members with this transition, we've prepared a step-by-step guide below for anyone that needs assistance.

How to Enable IE Mode in Microsoft Edge

1. Open up Edge, then click on the three dots in the upper-right corner of your window, then click "Settings".
2. Click on the "Default browser" header on the left of the screen.
3. Find "Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode" and choose "Allow", then click the blue "Restart" button.

Using FastBid in IE Mode

If you want to use FastBid to view plans, simply login into the PowerBid website, then click the three dots in the upper-right corner of your window, then choose "Reload in Internet Explorer mode" (it's near the bottom of the menu). From this point, you can use the site as you normally would and the FastBid plug-in should load once you try to view a plan with it. Of course, you must have the FastBid Plug-In software installed on your computer in order for this to function. If you need to download the installer, you can do that here: FastBid Installer
